Patients have unique knowledge, perspectives, and experiences that contribute essential evidence for HTA. This workshop shares best practice examples of patient involvement from the Asia Pacific region and equips participants with tools to enhance patient-centred approaches in HTA. An overview of patient preference studies will also be shared to prompt discussion on innovative methods for capturing and using patient perspectives in HTA. |

Health technology assessment (HTA) has been widely applied to support UHC decisions, including those related to kidney disease treatment. In this context, HITAP has developed a user guide, and an Excel tool designed to assist countries in generating economic evidence for policy decisions related to end stage kidney disease. This workshop will offer participants an overview of conducting economic evaluations using these tools, providing key recommendations of each step to align with best practice guidelines while also considering the local context to generate robust evidence for informed health policy decisions. |
